SAN DIEGO
Friday, February 9, 2018
Come meet us for a drink! We'll be at The Patio on Goldfinch around 9 pm.
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2018
Ceremony
3:30 PM
The Arbor at Presidio Park
2599 Presidio Drive
San Diego, CA 92103
Please be aware that the ceremony will take place outdoors. No matter what the weather is like, we advise that you bring a jacket/scarf/something to cover up in case it is chilly. The temperature will also drop in the evening.
Parking is sparse at and around Presidio Park and even more limited at the reception venue, so we recommend that you use an app like Lyft or a taxi to get to the ceremony. If you do drive, please carpool and know that you will probably have to walk a couple of blocks to get from parking in the adjacent neighborhood to the ceremony. For the reception, you will have to park at a parking meter.
After the ceremony, we'll provide transportation to get downtown.
Reception

Great Neighborhoods to Stay In
If your first priority is to be close to the sand:
Ocean Beach - San Diego's gritty, hippy beach town. Definitely has it's own unique vibe and has had a lot of good restaurants move in over the last few years. Best to AirBNB here.
Pacific Beach - San Diego's beach town for the young at heart. The culture is a bit lacking, but the beach is big and the boardwalk long. Hotels that will impress with their ocean/bayfront views are the resort-style Catamaran and the modern boutique Tower23.
La Jolla - San Diego's upscale beach community. Things get pricier here, but spots like the La Valencia and Estancia La Jolla hotels have views that are hard to beat.
Coronado - San Diego's quaint island community. Also on the pricier side, but beautiful and peaceful. The famous Hotel Del Coronado is here.
If you're into trendy neighborhoods with great food and drinks (in no particular order):
Hillcrest/Bankers Hill - Our current neighborhood. Main streets are University Ave and 5th and 6th St. Equidistant from the ceremony and reception locations makes for easy Lyft rides, and close proximity to museums, gardens and the zoo in Balboa Park.
Mission Hills - Derek's favorite neighborhood. A bit quieter than Hillcrest or North Park with beautiful homes along winding back streets. Washington St is where the action starts and then continues into Hillcrest.
Little Italy - The neighborhood where we got engaged! There are lots of amazing restaurants here-Italian and beyond. It's a very cute and centrally located neighborhood . . . just make sure the place you stay has parking!
North Park - San Diego's most hip neighborhood. 30th St, University Ave and El Cajon Blvd are the main thoroughfares and are chock-full of restaurants and bars.
South Park/ Golden Hill - The latest areas to become trendier. 30th St is the place to be in South Park, with a collection of restaurants, bars and shops and the site of our first date. Golden Hill is smaller and has a few good restaurants, bars and coffee shops along 25th St.
If you have any questions about the location you are considering, please don't hesitate to ask us. San Diego is a city of neighborhoods, and it's not too hard to end up in a hit-or-miss area or start getting farther away from the wedding action spots than you might realize. We want you to get the most out of your trip here, whatever that means to you!
